Teachers on the Estuary: Data Edition (6-12th Grade)
January 5, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm| Free
Open to all middle and high school teachers: any school, any subject, any grade between 6-12th.
What to Expect
Kick off the school year by starting outside of the classroom and join us in our living classroom at the GTM Research Reserve. This professional development opportunity, in combination with the 7 online modules (see below for additional information), will introduce you to resources that bridge classroom concepts with relevant, community/regional/national-based applications. Field trips are out-dated and antiquated. We provide true experiential programs for your students that combine onsite research and conservation efforts with educational programming.
It is strongly encouraged that middle and high school teachers that have reserved an onsite guided field experience at the GTM Research Reserve for Spring 2018 take part in this training opportunity. Not only will your student field experience only cost $10/day (taken upon making the reservation), but you’ll discover a plethora of ways in which we assist you integrate your students’ field experiences into your classroom.
This event is free, but space is limited and requires registration. We will also provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Herbivore, omnivore, and carnivore options will be provided.
15 hours (7 hours online + 8 hours on January 5)
